Live Events

Home to 25+ performing arts groups with over 75 events a year, the Egyptian Theatre is host to some of the most unique events in Northern Illinois. Live events at the Egyptian Theatre are produced by each performing organization.

Tickets may only be purchased in advance from each performing group. When available phone numbers for advance tickets for each event follows each listing. Tickets can only be purchased at the Theatre Box Office one hour before each show time.

Unless otherwise stated doors will open one hour prior to showtime with seating beginning half an hour before showtime.

April 17 at 7:00pm - Glidden Florist & Altrusa Floral Show "A Salute to Disney"

The Glidden Florist floral designers will create 25 Disney themed floral arrangements which will be given away to those attending. About 25 other potted flowers will be given away as well. Participants will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets during the evening. The Grand Prize is $300. Proceeds go to support literacy projects throughout the community. Approx. $5,000 in grants were distributed just last year. Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door. Tickets go on sale March 1 and will be available at the following locations: DeKalb & Sycamore Confectionary, Browns County Market in Sycamore, Kishwaukee Hospital, and Glidden Campus Florist.

April 19 at 7:30pm - American English Beatles Tribute Live in Concert

The show begins with the early years of Ed Sullivan and includes classic Beatle favorites such as She Loves You, Twist and Shout, I Want To Hold Your Hand, and many others. American English captures the very essence of John, Paul, George and Ringo! Next, you’ll take a trip with American English as they recreate the psychedelic era of The Beatles. Every musical and visual detail is magically shaped in a colorful journey back in time. You’ll witness incredible versions of selections from Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour. All the songs are performed completely live without any tapes or backing tracks. And in the end, you’ll be transformed to a spectacular musical excursion of the final years of The Beatles partnership. Relive the years of The White Album, Let It Be, and Abbey Road. Moving renditions of songs such as Hey Jude, Something, and Let It Be, are sure to complete the tribute to The Beatles! American English is the closest you will ever get to reliving The Beatles. Whether you grew up with the Fab Four or not, this show will be your window to the past. Witness “The Complete Beatles Tribute” with American English! April 20 at 11am - "Shake up the Boardom" Family Fun Day

Organized by a group of Northern Illinois University public relations class students, this event promises great fun for families. This event also aims to raise funds and awareness for the theatre. Traditional indoor party games will warm everyone up, followed by a lively board game competition sponsored by On Board Games freaturing kid's favorites such as Operation, Battleship, Candyland, and Trouble. Families are welcome to bring their own board games to play as well. There will be prizes and a raffle will be held for larger prizes. Papa John's pizza, pop, popcorn and candy will be available for purchase. A silent auction will feature the artwork of attending children. We invite kids from 5-14 to bring a letter-sized creation for submission, or create their submission on the spot. A classic animated family film, "Gulliver's Travels," will be shown at 1:00pm. Kids who attend the free game day starting at 11:00am will get into the movie for free. The general public is also invited to attend the movie for a minimal cost of $3.00 per person. Seating will start at approximately 12:30pm. Sponsors include On Board Games, Papa John's Pizza, Sycamore Family Sports Center, Sycamore Speedway, TRU Powersports and Studio One Salon & Spa.

Produced by Dreamers Theatre Group. Dreamers Theatre Group is a non-profit DeKalb organization that focuses on helping young actors grow through performance. The group stages two musicals or plays ech year. New members, ages 10-18, are encouraged to join anytime. For more info, visit www.dreamerstheatregroup.org. May 9 at 7:30pm & May 10 at 6:30pm - School of Ballet Arts & Dance Spring Showcase

The School of Ballet Arts and Dance is celebrating its 5th anniversary. To open the performance the advanced dancers will be featuring Les Sylphides. Les Sylphides is a gorgeous one-act, plotless ballet. It consists of several sylphs dancing in the moonlight. This ballet portrays the beauty of movement through music. Following Les Sylphides will be students 3 and above showcasing styles in ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. Take an evening out with the whole family. Tickets are $15 for Adults, $10 for Children 4-11, and Children under 4 are free. For tickets call the school at 815-899-1307.
